Daniel Smith Cadmium Orange Hue is a deep, radiant orange that leans slightly towards red. Safe, Vibrant Cadmium Hue Watercolors! This formula provides all the density and richness of classic cadmium colors. The hues are virtually identical in color to their namesakes, but cleaner in mixtures and stronger in tints – you’ll find a little goes a long way. Working properties are low staining power, semi-transparency and excellent light fastness.

Swatch info: Starting with 10 parts water to 1 part paint (by weight) in the palette, the chemist painted the top half of the swatch uniformly with a round brush to show the paint’s color and characteristics. For the bottom half, a  0.75-inch flat brush was dipped into the paint well just once, then the color was applied in stripes until the brush was dry, which shows the color’s tone and behavior through a wash.
